In 2004, InnerWorks Holistic Health Center, LLC
was established for several reasons.
We recognized the growing need for practitioners to take time to
listen to clients and in turn teach clients how to listen to themselves.
We wanted to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to wellness that
would open up pathways to short and long term improved health.
And we recognized it was essential to create an environment where
the practitioners embody a spirit of health as much for themselves as
their clients.
InnerWorks is an evolving service based organization
devoted to physical, emotional and health spiritual.
We provide a supportive environment for healing facilitated by a
multi-disciplinary health care team blending western technology and
complementary therapies. What
does multi-disciplinary really mean?
It means you must have practitioners working together at the
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels of the patient; it means
you must practice multi-dimensional diagnosis and intervention.
Dynamic, healthy living requires balance, growth and
nurturing in many dimensions. It
is a participatory process by client and therapist alike that benefits
from a variety of services offered within a coordinated framework.
To transform anything it must be viewed in its completeness.
We must recognize that there are many facets of an
individual that define and influence their health. The gateway for one person may not be the same for the next
and we as practitioners must be diligent in searching for the most
appropriate and therapeutic approaches.
We need a new model based on abundance, the pursuit
of wellness, potentiation of people, community collaboration and
assumption of personal responsibility.
With this in mind, InnerWorks is a health cooperative
staffed by both traditional and non-traditional health practitioners.
Staff members include a Naturopathic Physician, physician’s assistant,
registered nurses trained in a variety of bodywork therapies, licensed
clinical social workers, nationally certified acupuncturists, massage
therapists and yoga instructors. Whether
you are looking for a relaxing massage, relief from chronic pain or
exploring emotional or spiritual dimensions of health and wellness,
InnerWorks can provide experienced practitioners to help meet your needs.

- Acupuncture
-- is the insertion of very fine needles on the body’s surface in
order to influence physiological functioning of the body, through
the energy force running through it along pathways called meridians.
This ancient practice is over 5,000 years old and was
developed and refined in China and holds to the belief that a
person’s health is influenced by the flow and balance of this
energy force…or qi (pronounced chee).
- Chinese Medicine
– is a
process of perceiving signs and symptoms and relating them to one
another to reveal how they form patterns of harmony or disharmony.
Each symptom or sign has meaning only in relationship to other signs
and symptoms and to the whole of your mind/body/ spirit.
This process of examination reveals which of the Eight
Fundamental Patterns of disharmony are at work and what type of
disharmony of the organ systems and channels you may have, and a
healthcare plan can be instituted which may include Chinese herbs,
acupuncture or other modalities.
- Naturopathic Medicine
- is a distinct primary healthcare profession, emphasizing prevention, treatment and optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and substances which encourage the person's inherent self-healing process, the vis mediacatrix
naturae.
- Psychotherapy/Counseling
- is a dialogue between the trained counselor and a client with the goal of gaining personal insight into patterns of emotions and behavior that have proved unhealthy to that person, and perhaps to their relationships and life functioning. Our counseling services include individual counseling, marriage and family therapy, crisis intervention, and anger and stress management. Quality therapy can be an adventure that enhances physical, emotional and spiritual well-being and goes hand in hand with other body work therapies.
- Therapeutic Massage
- stretches the ligaments and tendons, keeping them supple and young. The skin and nervous system is stimulated, while the nerves are soothed. Therapeutic massage reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. Venous return is increased which shortens recovery time from muscular strain. Circulation is increased without increasing the heart load.
- Zero Balancing
- is a hands-on body/mind system designed to align body energy with the body's physical structure. It represents the integration of Eastern views of energy with Western views of science.
- EMDR
- is an acronym for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a clinical treatment that has successfully helped over 1 million people who have survived trauma from sexual abuse, domestic violence, combat, crime, depression, addictions, phobias and a variety of self-esteem issues. This practice utilizes structured rapid eye movements as a rhythmical stimulation of the brain's information processing system which can help clients progress toward their therapeutic goals with recognizable changes that don't disappear over time.
- Lymphatic Drainage
- is a subtle hands-on system of maneuvers to assess the lymphatic system and simulate wave-like movements to activate fluid systems in the body. The proper functioning of the lymphatic system is critical to our body's ability to detoxify, regenerate tissues, stimulate the immune system and prevent an unhealthy accumulation of excess body fluids due to surgery, poor circulation, sprains, etc.
- CranioSacral Therapy
- is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating the functioning of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord and improve the functioning of that central nervous system. It is effective for health problems associated with migraine and other headaches, TMJ, brain and spinal cord injuries, chronic pain conditions, post-traumatic stress disorder, some learning disabilities, stress and tension-related problems.
- Rosen Method Bodywork
- is distinguished by its gentle, direct touch, using hands that listen rather than manipulate. The practitioner focuses on chronic muscle tension and the breath, and subsequently the unconscious feelings, attitudes, and memories that may emerge. As this process unfolds, habitual tension and old patterns may be releasfreeing the client to experience more aliveness, new choices in life, and a greater sense of well-being.
- Reiki
- describes both a harmonizing energy and a non-invasive therapy which involves the placing of hand in a sequence of stationary locations on or near the body. The purpose of this practice is to promote the client's own natural healing process by providing deep relaxation, abatement of symptoms of distress, or a sense of harmony and balance. Reiki can be used in conjunction with any other treatment to enhance and accelerate its effectiveness.
- Yoga
- is a philosophy and exercise system that combines movement and simple poses with deep breathing and meditation to promote healing and relaxation, to reduce fatigue, and to increase strength, flexibility and balance.
- Myers-Briggs Personality Assessment
- is a powerful tool to help determine your personality type and how that affects your approach to your self image, your life-style and health care choices; how you relate to others; how you problem solve and how you perceive yourself functioning in the world. This better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses can help establish a healthy balance of emotions, actions, attitudes and physical wellness.
- Holistic Health Assessment
- through a combination of physical exam, verbal & written communication, and labwork when indicated, our holistic nurse practitioner partners with the client to provide an individualized plan of healthcare. These assessments are used to intake data that lead to learning more about the physical, emotional, mental spiritual sources for symptoms of stress, pain, and anxiety.
- Therapeutic Touch
- is a gentle nursing procedure that uses the hands with intention to promote relaxation and comfort. Touch may or may not be used as this process primarily helps restore balance within an individual at a subtle energetic level.
NOTE: Some of our services have been combined in various "packages" to more efficiently and cost effectively help you begin your health recovery. And, as always, modalities are offered individually as well.
