Are You a Vintage Vixen? Retro is Making a Comeback ... Vintage Style Without a doubt, vintage threads are hip, cherry, groovy, a gas ... primo. According to Jessica Belasco of the San Antonio Express-News, the trend is everywhere from Urban Outfitters' selection of carefully faded tees sporting logos from the 1970s to Levi Strauss' jeans (painstakingly ripped or "distressed") and Chanel's ever popular 2.55 quilted handbag with chain strap, a reissue of the original classic created back in February of 1955. Bottomline:  both chicks and dudes are diggin' it. But why unload bread on "vintage" replicas when you can bag the real thing?  asks newspaper columnists, along with apparently a growing number of today's shoppers. The result?  Vintage originals are experiencing an unheard of rebirth in popularity for a number of reasons:  1) Vintage originals are boss with cool, unique designs  2) Vintage originals are totally fab with usually higher quality than modern clothing 3) Last but not least, you don't have to freak out over not having enough scratch, because you can often find bargains.  Note:  for those of you not old enough to know the vintage slang used in this article or for those of you who were there but just don't remember (for whatever reason), here's a glossary of 1960s slang.
